Since its founding in 1962, Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers have been dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Guadalupe and Cherry Point/Parkway neighborhoods.
Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers strive to keep young people engaged in positive activities and away from destructive ones such as alcohol and drug abuse, gangs, violence and crime.

Recreational activities offered by Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers include:
" Organized sports (basketball, volleyball, softball, football, soccer)
" Outdoor adventure trips
" Family activity nights
" Cultural opportunities
" Arts and Crafts
" Friendship clubs
" Field trips
Educational programs offered by Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers include:
" Young people or adults needing help with reading, school work or academic skills are paired with college student tutors recruited and screened by the Community Action Network at Texas Tech University.
" We Can Read - sponsored jointly by the centers and Literacy Lubbock aims to enhance reading skills, and help children develop an appreciation for reading.
Anyone at least six years of age can become a member of the Guadalupe or Parkway Neighborhood Center for $27 per year and is all inclusive of all the programs offered at all three sites. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
