Mission: Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Inc. (GS-TOP) is a nonprofit organization serving girls and adults in 81 counties throughout the Texas and Oklahoma plains. GS-TOP, formed in 2008 by merging four existing councils, reaches out to all girls in large and small communities.
GS-TOP reaches girls of every age, ethnicity, ability and background fulfilling the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. This mission is accomplished through traditional troop programs, in-school programs, and camping opportunities. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. Adults are served through leadership development, governance opportunities, and various adult learning opportunities throughout the Council.
Girl Scout Promise:
On my honor, I will try;
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Girl Scout Law:
I will do my best:
to be honest
to be fair
to help where I am needed
to be cheerful
to be friendly and considerate
to be a sister to every Girl Scout
to respect authority
to use resources wisely
to protect and improve
the world around me
to show respect for myself
and others through my words
and actions.
