Mission:To strengthen families across the community by providing hope, education, resources and encouragement .

Programs funded by the Lubbock Area United Way: Texas Families: Together and Safe utilizing Parents as Teachers (PAT) research based curriculum 
Family Mentor Program (79404 Zip Code)

Logic Model-programs will focus on:

Prenatal Mother and Child Well-being
Reduction in the number of low birth weight babies
Education to Prevent Abuse and Neglect
Assessing and detecting developmental delays and other needs
Evaluating and providing opportunities for both parent and child learning
Evaluating and improving school readiness
Community Resource Network and Community Awareness.

Programs mentor parents of children age 0 to kindergarten through community based services, personal in-home visits and parent support groups which assist in building parenting competency and in providing a safe, stable and supportive family environment.

Eligibility for Parenting Services:
Services are provided to families without regard to economic status.
Services are provided at no cost to the family.
Families live within a 30 mile radius of Lubbock.
Families are expecting or have children within the age range of 0-to kindergarten entry.
Children are not actively involved in an open Children’s Protective Services (CPS) case.

Eligibility for Family Mentor Program:
Resides in the 79404 zip code area

Accessing Services:
Services are offered to families with the families input.
Self referral-phone call by prospective family to the Parenting Cottage.
Referral from any community agency.
