The Lubbock Boys & Girls Club has been helping young people since 1940. A member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Lubbock chapter serves over 4000 youths a year from three locations throughout the city.
The clubs are open after school until 9 p.m., half-a-day on Saturday, and all day during summer vacation, serving children and teens ages 6 to 18. Kids join the club for as low as $5 and no more than $10 per year. Many programs are free, and those that require a fee are kept affordable. No child will be turned away because of financial need.
The Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe, positive place for kids. Members participate in programs in five core areas:
» Character and leadership development
» Education and career development
» Health and life skills
» The arts
» Sports, fitness and recreation
Programs funded by the Lubbock Area United Way:
