Thanks for taking a moment to visit the United Way website. It is my privilege and honor to serve as the 2012 Campaign Chairman. I have enjoyed the opportunity this year to personally visit all of our Community Partner agencies. I have been impressed by the passion and dedication shown by the employees of our Community Partners who work every day to make Lubbock a better place.

I have also made visits to many of the companies that provide volunteers and financial support to United Way. The gifts given by these companies and their employees fuel the work of our agencies. Over 70% of the funds we will raise this year will come from employees who give by payroll deduction each payday. These funds stay here in Lubbock and make a big difference. These combined provide real assistance to folks who really need it.

As I visited with our Community Partners, I was impressed to learn that the people they serve are not seeking a hand out. These families and individuals have a strong desire to succeed and be self -sufficient, and United Way can help them do that. They just need a little help today so that they can make their own lives better tomorrow.
